ABOUT US
"vocation is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet." fredrick buechner
Working in a developing nation means there is a constant tension to be held between assisting in relief efforts and putting our efforts towards sustainable projects. That is why we do both. We provide nutrition (relief) by purchasing eggs from a business that is focused on sustainability. We provide education because we believe that the result of being educated is being able to provide for one-self, and one's family. We assist in mental health and social work programs because living in ongoing trauma prevents kids from flourishing into positively contributing members of society.

Roots for Zimbabwe is named for the people of Zimbabwe, who resemble so closely the words of Jeremiah. "But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."

Zimbabwe has had its challenges in the recent years, once the leading exporter in Southern Africa, it now has deep economic problems and struggles to meet the basic needs of many of it's people. There is a trust and strength within the people together that despite the various types of drought they never fail to bear fruit. We are honored to be a part of what God is doing in Zimbabwe.
